Stolen Motorcycle Abandoned in Newcastle Street Sparks Police Hunt


Police are currently on the lookout for perpetrators who ditched a stolen motorbike in the heart of a city street upon the arrival of law enforcement.

The incident unfolded yesterday at approximately 2:30 pm in Pudding Chare, situated near the bustling Bigg Market within Newcastle city center. Authorities responded to reports of a motorcycle being operated in a disruptive manner within the vicinity. Upon police arrival, the two individuals riding the bike hastily fled the scene.

Abandoning the motorcycle, suspected to be stolen, in the midst of Pudding Chare, law enforcement officials are now seeking assistance in identifying its rightful owner and locating the culprits responsible for the theft.

A spokesperson from Northumbria Police issued a statement, revealing, "Shortly after 2:30 pm on Wednesday, February 28, officers on patrol observed a motorcycle being operated in a disruptive manner in the Pudding Chare area of Newcastle city center. Despite police presence, the two male riders absconded on foot. The motorcycle in question, believed to have been stolen, was left behind and subsequently confiscated by law enforcement." The spokesperson added, "Investigations are underway to apprehend those involved and facilitate the return of the motorcycle to its owner."
