Two Bodies Found in River Thames as Search for Abdul Ezedi Continues

In a span of thirty minutes, authorities recovered two bodies from the River Thames as they continue their efforts to locate Abdul Ezedi.

The first discovery occurred just before 10:15 am on Saturday (February 10) near the HMS Belfast, situated between London Bridge and Tower Bridge. Shortly after, at 10:40 am, another body was recovered from the water in Limehouse.

Metropolitan Police officers are currently working to confirm the identities of the deceased individuals and notify their next of kin. The deaths are being treated as unexpected pending further investigation, according to Scotland Yard.

Marine police have intensified their search along the River Thames, suspecting that Abdul Ezedi may be in the water. Ezedi's last confirmed sighting was near Chelsea Bridge shortly before 11:30 pm on January 31, the night of the acid attack in Clapham that left a mother and her two children badly injured.

Since 10 am on February 11, police boats have been conducting searches during low tide around Chelsea Bridge and its surrounding area aided by the RNLI Chiswick Lifeboat Station.

Commander Jon Savell stated, "Our enquiries continue, but we have been very closely following all available evidence for the past week, and indications now suggest that Ezedi entered the water. He is a man who had just carried out the most horrific attack and was suffering from significant injuries himself, which must have been causing him an extraordinary amount of pain."

"It is just over four miles from Tower Hill, where he was seen leaving the tube station, to Chelsea Bridge. He walks purposefully. Halfway across Chelsea Bridge he pauses and paces back and forth towards the railings, as well as looking over them, this is a change in behavior. Then he is lost from sight," Savell added.

He concluded, "At that time of night, at this time of year, and entering the water from the middle of a bridge at height, the chances of Ezedi surviving are extremely remote."
